The 9th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) took place in Xiamen through Sept 9th to 11th. The event was hosted by China Department of Commerce, and co-hosted by several organizations include UNCTAD, UNIDO, OECD, IFC, and WAIPA. 22 Chinese government officials responsible for economic development and international trade also attend the event to show government support and encouragement of trade, and 48 Fair officials also attended the event and participate in various conventions and investment negotiations.
Participants of the event include investors and entrepreneurs from 125 nationals and total head count reached 12,015. 350 investment organizations from 90 nations around world were attending the event; with 105 of them were official foreign government groups, and 79 commerce organizations. There were also 128 investment team and executives from Top 500 global companies listed by Fortune Magazine. The number and quality of the participants greatly improved and stimulate investment compare to event of 2004.
Mr. Qiang Bai, President of CAST-TX, CTO of Venture Pacific Group and uniView, attended the event and was surprised and motivated by it as well. According to Mr. Bai's observation and experience through the event, the investment, networking, and trade opportunities were everywhere. The event itself has upgraded and became much more internationalized. According to Fair statistics, the number of agreements signed during the investment fair reached 1,411, with total investment of USD 26.9 billion, of which more than 75% of the figure comes from foreign investments. Venture Pacific through this event also found business opportunities and initiated a few agreements with several Chinese corporations.
CIFIT is the only business fair that stimulates and encourages investment in both directions, from foreign investors to China, and from Chinese investors to around the world. It is an event which signifies the policy of economic growth in China, to attract more foreign investments and internationalize companies and organizations in China.
