Xiamen International Fair for Investment and Trade

The 9th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) took place in Xiamen through Sept 9th to 11th. The event was hosted by China Department of Commerce, and co-hosted by several organizations include UNCTAD, UNIDO, OECD, IFC, and WAIPA. 22 Chinese government officials responsible for economic development and international trade also attend the event to show government support and encouragement of trade, and 48 Fair officials also attended the event and participate in various conventions and investment negotiations. Global Leadership Luncheon A Success

The Global Leadership Luncheon hosted by UTD Global Leadership Executive MBA Program and CAST this past Saturday, August 13th, was a tremendous success. The event was attended by over 80 students and professionals. Some came to learn from the valuable experiences of the speakers, others to find out more about UTD's GLEMBA program. Over all, people were impressed by the speakers' engaging speeches and thought the event beneficial to their personal growth. Texas Asian American Business Symposium

CAST will be the co-host of the Texas Asian American Business Symposium held at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas from August 26th to 27th. The event, organized by the Texas Federation of Asian American Chamber of Commerce, will draw members of Asian American Chambers of Commerce from Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. In a New York Times interview that was published on Sunday, February 20, 2005, George F. Colony, CEO of Forrester Research, attributes RFID in the retail space as the biggest trend in 2005 for the IT industry. The world's dominant retailer, Wal-Mart corp., has been rolling out its RFID deployment on a very aggressive schedule.
